Monday Check-In
Obsessing over… the Drive soundtrack, and my co-worker’s January Spotify playlist, both of which are endlessly listenable.
Working on… coordinating Books & Brunch! There’s been a lot of interest, both on and off Tumblr, and I’m going to send out more information soon. Hopefully, it won’t be a problem that I made an executive decision as far as which 2012 Alex Award winner we’ll read first.
Thinking about… all of the things I would put on a to-do list, if only I were organized enough to have a to-do list. Oh well.
Anticipating… getting paid that money, that cash, when direct deposit goes through tonight. See Also: going grocery shopping, buying a copy of Ready Player One, and not feeling like a failed experiment in adult living.
Listening to… Misfits, as in the TV show. Yes, I know I’m at least a year behind on this, but better late than never, right?
Drinking… not wine, because I accidentally got cork in what was left of the bottle I brought to dinner on Saturday. Woe is me.
Wishing… it were warm enough to go for a late night bike ride.
I am going to get back to book blogging on February 1st.
Hold me to this.
I need more than work to keep me busy.

Redemption — Frank Turner
I was walking home to my house through the snow from the station
When Springsteen came clear in my headphones with a pertinent question
Is love really real and can any of us hope for redemption?
Or are we all merely biding our time down to the lonely conclusion?
